其后，奥利佛树陆续推出第二张录音室专辑《Cowboy Tears（英语：Cowboy Tears）》（2022年）、第三张专辑《Alone in a Crowd（英语：Alone in a Crowd (Oliver Tree album)）》（2023年），以及第四张亦为最后一张专辑《Love You Madly Hate You Badly》（2026年）。[6][7][8]奥利佛树于2026年6月14日在巴西里约热内卢因直升机相撞事故身亡。

早年生活

奥利弗·特里·尼克尔于1993年6月29日出生于加利福尼亚州圣塔克鲁兹，父母为杰西·路易斯·尼克尔三世（Jesse Louis Nickell III）与克莉丝汀·玛丽（Christine Marie，娘家姓Begin）。[9][10][11]

奥利佛树曾于旧金山州立大学主修商业两年。[12]

2010–2016年

奥利佛树于2010年以“Tree”为名展开个人音乐生涯，早期已为如Skrillex与Zeds Dead（英语：Zeds Dead）等艺人进行简报与企划准备。他以独立发行方式起步，并于2013年初推出专辑《Splitting Branches》。此外，他曾担任斯卡乐团Irony的主唱与吉他手，这也是其首次正式公开演出经验。[13]之后，他短暂投入回响贝斯制作，并参与音乐节演出，包括2011年旧金山Wobbleland音乐节，当时主要以“Tree”作为艺名发表作品。[10]

20岁时，奥利佛树与伦敦R&S唱片（英语：R&S Records）签约，并于2013年8月发行迷你专辑《Demons》。该作品在Radiohead主唱汤姆·约克认可其翻唱〈Karma Police（英语：Karma Police）〉后获得关注。[14]其后他暂停音乐活动并返回学业，就读加州艺术学院修读音乐科技。[12][15]

2016年3月，奥利佛树以客串形式参与Getter (DJ)（英语：Getter）单曲〈Forget It〉，收录于专辑《Radical Dude!》。[16]同年11月，他首次登上电视节目《Last Call with Carson Daly（英语：Last Call with Carson Daly）》演出。[17]

2016年10月与Whethan（英语：Whethan）合作推出〈When I'm Down〉后，他与大西洋唱片签约。[18]同年自加州艺术学院取得美术学士学位。[19]

2017年5月26日，他以艺名Oliver Tree发行单曲〈Welcome to LA〉。2018年2月推出主流厂牌首张EP《Alien Boy（英语：Alien Boy）》，并发行双主打MV〈All That x Alien Boy〉，该作品由其亲自编导，制作历时超过九个月。[20][21]他为此在佩里斯汽车赛道（英语：Perris Auto Speedway）练习自由式怪兽卡车跳跃五个月，并于MV中亲自完成特技。[22]

同时，他参与Lollapalooza、Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival（英语：Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival）及Coachella音乐节等大型音乐节，并被《LA Weekly（英语：LA Weekly）》列入2017年Coachella最具特色造型名单。[20][23]

其后，他担任Louis the Child (DJ组合)（英语：Louis the Child）“Last to Leave Tour”（2017）与Skizzy Mars（英语：Skizzy Mars）“Are You OK? Tour”（2018）暖场嘉宾，并曾参与Hobo Johnson（英语：Hobo Johnson）巡演。期间亦持续创作喜剧短片，并与Jerry Media（英语：Jerry Media）等团队合作。[24]

2018–2020年

在2018年至2019年间，奥利佛树持续发行多首单曲，并逐步收录至其首张录音室专辑《Ugly Is Beautiful（英语：Ugly Is Beautiful）》。2018年12月7日，他推出〈Hurt〉及其音乐录影带，该影片于乌克兰拍摄，由他与导演Brendan Vaughan共同编导。其后，他展开“Ugly Is Beautiful Tour”，演唱多首后来收录于专辑的歌曲，包括〈Joke's On You!〉与〈Waste My Time〉。2019年4月11日，他发行单曲〈Fuck〉及同名音乐录影带。2019年6月7日，他推出〈Miracle Man〉，并宣布举行“Goodbye Farewell Tour”，巡演时间为2019年9月至11月。[25]

2019年8月2日，他发行第二张迷你专辑《Do You Feel Me? (EP)（英语：Do You Feel Me? (EP)）》，收录歌曲〈Introspective〉，并获得普遍正面评价。[26]

2019年12月6日，他发行单曲〈Cash Machine〉，并宣布首张专辑《Ugly Is Beautiful》原定于2020年3月27日发行，但因2019冠状病毒病疫情延期。[27]

2020年6月8日，他再度宣布延后《Ugly Is Beautiful》发行，表示当时美国社会正处于针对种族主义与警察暴力的抗议浪潮中，认为不适合发布专辑。最终该专辑于2020年7月17日正式发行。

2021–2022年

尽管曾表示“退休”，奥利佛树仍于2021年2月4日发行单曲〈Out of Ordinary〉，并宣布推出首张专辑《Ugly Is Beautiful（英语：Ugly Is Beautiful）》加长版。[30][31]

2021年5月28日，他发行加长版专辑《Ugly Is Beautiful: Shorter, Thicker & Uglier（英语：Ugly Is Beautiful: Shorter, Thicker & Uglier）》，其中〈Life Goes On〉获得广泛关注。[32]

2022年1月12日，他发行单曲〈Cowboys Don't Cry〉，并于2022年2月4日推出〈Freaks & Geeks〉，两首作品均收录于第二张录音室专辑《Cowboy Tears（英语：Cowboy Tears）》。该专辑于2022年2月18日正式发行。其后，他于2022年5月20日推出〈I Hate You〉，并于2022年7月15日发行〈Placeholder〉，同时宣布展开该专辑巡回演出。[33][34]

2023年3月3日，奥利佛树与DJ及制作人大卫·库塔合作发行单曲〈Here We Go Again〉。2023年6月20日，他推出单曲〈Bounce〉，并于同日于美国科罗拉多州莫里森（英语：Morrison, Colorado）附近的红石露天剧场（英语：Red Rocks Amphitheatre）演出时宣布该曲将收录于其第三张录音室专辑《Alone in a Crowd (Oliver Tree album)（英语：Alone in a Crowd (Oliver Tree album)）》。[35]

2023年7月17日，他宣布“Alone in a Crowd World Tour”，巡演时间为2023年10月至2024年2月，涵盖澳洲、欧洲、英国及美国，并与Sueco（英语：Sueco）、托米·凯什（英语：Tommy Cash (rapper)）及FIDLAR（英语：FIDLAR）等艺人合作演出。其后，他于2023年7月21日发行〈One & Only〉，9月1日与电子团体Super Computer合作推出〈Essence〉，9月15日发行〈Fairweather Friends〉。专辑《Alone in a Crowd》最终于2023年9月29日正式发行。[35]

2025年10月，他发行单曲〈Superhero〉，作为第四张录音室专辑《Love You Madly, Hate You Badly》的前导单曲。[36]

2026年4月9日，官方宣布《Love You Madly, Hate You Badly》将于2026年4月24日发行，同时确认他已离开大西洋唱片，并以个人厂牌Alien Boy Records独立发行该专辑。该专辑最终于2026年4月24日正式推出。[37]

2026年5月4日，他宣布“The World’s First World Tour”，巡演横跨七大洲、超过30个国家，共70场演出，并于2026年5月30日在墨西哥城开场，6月6日在圣保罗完成演出。其后因其于2026年6月14日于直升机事故中去世，剩余巡演全数取消。[38][39][40]
